WinEQ 2.05 Pro issues

Post by Taekwondo » Wed Dec 08, 2004 4:55 pm

OK, I thoroughly enjoyed 1.38, it was by far the best multi-windowed utility I have used, even with the minor issues it had. 2.05 however, is still giving me some heartburn. I waited quite a while after the beta for it to attempt to use it (since I had some serious issues with loading games etc. during beta) but now, while I can actually get EQ to come up, my framerate is absolutely terrible. I have tried shutting down all unnecessary background stuff, rebooting, reloading, re-patching, running WinEQ 1.38 first even. Nothing seems to help. I would go back to WinEQ 1.38 but it seems to be having the same type of issues now, I have been running EQPlayNice with the SOE-based multi-window EQ session and I don't seem to have many problems, but I would really prefer to be able to use WinEQ 2.05. Here's my SysInfo.txt:

Hmmm.. the only things I can think of as far as horrible framerate are a) drivers, and b) omens of war (people turn off vertex shaders in OOW to reduce lag, but of course with NVIDIA you need them on or EQ crashes).

Here's my suggestions, perhaps I can come up with more if necessary
1) Your drivers are version 61.77, and NVIDIA put out new drivers last month that are version 66.93 (now forceware instead of detonator). See if those help you
2) I do see that your EQ settings are pretty close to maximum. Have you tried lowering them to see if that helps?
3) If you get this lag issue even when single boxing, try running the Inner Space alpha. See if you have the same lag issue using that.
4) WinEQ detects your sound as Emu10Kx. From what I can gather, this may actually be an Audigy card? Mine have always shown up as Audigy (it could be another Emu10Kx-based card of course). Have you tried disabling sound? Is there an upddated driver you can use?
