NVIDIA BSOD w 2.02

I'm getting the NVIDIA BSOD now with 2.02 and RC4.

I have 3 PC's, all with NVIDIA cards, and this error is new to this PC. It doesn't show with EQWindows.

The only known BSOD issues with EQ are a) completely running out of memory (some systems), b) multiboxing with NVIDIA with vertex shaders off.
My assumption is that your BSOD is not one of these two, and WinEQ 2.0 doesn't really introduce the possibility of a BSOD.

Here's what I would recommend trying
1) Verify that all of your system fans are spinning (CPU, Video card, and motherboard chipset fans in particular)
2) Uninstall your video card drivers, and install the newest from nvidia.com
3) Try running without MQ2, just to eliminate the possibility
4) Verify that other hardware is not causing the problem, by switching parts from another computer if possible

RC3 = no BSOD, RC4 and 2.02 = BSOD within about 20 minutes. This machine never had an issue prior, and still doesn't have a problem with EQWindows.

Is there any way to lock the version? To stick to RC3?

How are you testing with RC3 or RC4? We havent changed anything DirectX related since then, so I still dont know why you would get a BSOD. Did you try any of the suggestions? I understand you didn't have the problem before, but it really doesn't make sense.

-- All fans (video, memory and chipset fans) are confirmed to be running. However, if the problem was heat related, I would expect the same issue with EQW, and I would have expected when I was running RC3 for almost 22 hours straight).

- Confirmed. 2 toons, in PoK. BSOD in about 20 minutes just sitting.

4) Verify that other hardware is not causing the problem, by switching parts from another computer if possible

- this was only step not taken due to lack of other hardware without changing the stable systems.

If there is no difference in RC3 as far as directX, then having the chance to run RC3 for a bit should give me the same problem, and confirm that it's not a software issue. It may not make sense, but the crashes began immediately after downloading RC4.
