hotkeys issue

Post by Shadaki » Sat Oct 30, 2004 7:42 am

Hi, when i switch windows (use ctrl+alt+#) it seems to keep thinking i have ctrl+alt pressed, so pressing "m" would toggle the memory indicator.

This is annoying when you swap windows to chat and you start getting popup windows in the way and the keys dont respond.

If you do a ctrl+alt+command (eg m) in a window it will free it up so it works properly again.

I am running the RC3 version, and it has listed fixed what sounds like the same issue I am having (it was a fresh install of WinEQ)

Hmmm that is precisely the issue I fixed in RC3. I'll re-test some more.

I would also like to say i'm getting these same issues. It seems like this time when i switch to different sessions, the keyboard focus to that session is fixed but it seems like one of the cntrl or alt is pressed down.

But this problem is much easyier to cope with then before.

I've tried but was unable to. I have made several changes to the input system and it may be resolved in the next update.

Just to let you know i still have this problem in RC4.

Have say 3 sessions up, use the default keys to switch among sessions cntrl + alt + 1, 2 or 3. switch between these sessions, now try to type something into a chat box.

What i usually get and it seems like is happening is the cntrl key or alt key being pressed down (so to fix press cntrl or alt to correct issue). thus when trying to type some text hitting certain letters will cause a window to pop up.

Also i'm not sure if its eqwin related or memory related but when i play one of my eqwindows would crash out of the blue. I would be in a zone for awhile switching among windows then all of a sudden crash.

probably a "reset device failed" crash. As far as the hotkeys.. are you using left control and left alt? or perhaps the right control and alt?

I have always used the left ctrl and alt keys. The wierd thing is if i switch from one session to another and another it doesn't always happen, but after several switches or sometimes just one switch the problem occurs in that a cntrl or alt key is "stuck" down.

I wish i could reproduce this problem 100% of the time but sadly i can't. As a programer myself, its hard to fix a bug in which you can't reproduce consistantly.

Hi Lax, not sure if this is same problem.

But I get this.

I changed my switch key to ` key.
(both forwarded and back)

sometimes, when I press it. char I'm switched to changes camera mode. As if I press f9, which I didn't.

I run mq2. happens with all plugins/no plugins
