Everquest2 and 2 hard drives second won't register..

Post by Krehldar » Sat Aug 27, 2005 2:01 am

Wineq says can't communicate with registration server when I attempt to open a second eq2 session on a second hard drive, On drive C: it all works fine, if I try to start up from Drive E: my second drive I get "Connection to Lavish Software license server failed. The server may be inaccessable to you at this time, or the amount of network lag between you and the server may be extrordinarily high." Start up on drive C: and no probs though

Err... why do you have two EQ2 directories? ;) If there is some benefit like not having to type in something twice, etc, let me know and I will remove the benefit by making it work through profiles. Two directories comes at a performance loss if you try to use them both at the same time so I hope it's not for performance (not that you should run 2 with 512MB anyway)! :)

Now... as far as the connection. There's absolutely nothing in my software that would make an ounce of difference where your game is. I have games on 3 different drives and they all work perfectly fine. The only thing I can think of that could be causing this problem is a software firewall or something.

Not WinEQ..

It's not wineq that's causing the problem, not sure at this point exactly what it is, I know running 2 instances at 512 sucks big donkeys but for the next week or so is the best I can do, I thought running a second instance from another drive may improve performance a slight bit, but since it doesn't then I'll just go back to running both off the same eq2 directory thanks :-)
