Default EQPlayNice Lite configuration in 1.06

Post by Lax » Thu Jul 15, 2004 12:07 am

... caused users to believe that EQPlayNice is "useless" and "not working". This is not the case. The problem was simply that the default framerate in EQPlayNice.ini was set to 30 after the implementation 2 months ago of a feature called rendering limiting. Rendering limiting increased the framerate of the background sessions, while using less CPU usage. Because this is now a subscriber-only feature, and the setting was still 30 fps in the background, Lite users did not realize it was still working -- EQ still showed pretty high CPU usage. This was absolutely due to the default configuration.

To resolve this problem in 1.07, the default framerate for EQPlayNice Lite users is now 20 in the background, just as it was before the rendering limiting was implemented. EQPlayNice Lite works exactly as it did from January 1st 2004 to late April. Subscribers receive the newer features that were implemented more recently as the product was developed. Non-subscribers can continue to use the product for free.
