Mine is not doing that. Everything is working fine other than that.

I wanted to throw this in because I suspect it may be part of the problem. I just returned to EQ recently. The last time I "took a break" was 4 years ago. When I boxed back then, I used two computers. Occasionally, though, I would log in a 3rd account for buffage and stuff. If I recall correctly, in order to log in two accounts on one computer back then, I had to make two copies of the EQ directlories, and log in from each one, or they wouldn't play nice together (this may be a problem that was unique to me at the time, and making two copies seemed to fix it)

My question is, can I run all instances from the same directory? Or do I still need multiple copies of the EQ directory. Oh, and I did not use WinEQ back then.

Anyway, I was hoping to have it remember my login for each character. It would make me all giggly inside if it would.

Your problem is the station launcher. What you need to do is only have your main set to run the patcher. On all other instances go into the profile settings in wineq, and turn the patcher off, and that will fix your problem. You do not need to run from multiple folders for EQ itsself if you use this method, and also this method is much quicker to log in multiple accounts.

I currently 2 box from the same directory/folder. I have a separate profile for each account & WinEQ remembers the 2 different logins. Perhaps running both out of the same folder will fix your problem? I hope it helps!

I have a problem being able to set hotkeys to switch between instances as I mentioned 3 topics below yours. Do you have this problem? Just curious.... hope I was able to help!

I have two problems that i have been trying to figure out.

1) Mouse wants to make me look down all the time.. I can get it to stop this by useing alt+enter a few times.. but as soon as i window out and back it, it occurs again.

2) Cuts off the bottom of the eq2 window. I can correct it by moving up my chat windows, but wondering if there is a better fix?
My issue is with the EQ1 version of WinEQ2. There seems to be a change in the "Key Name List" portion of the "hotkeys" tab. You can now on set "L button" "R button" "X button 1" "X button2" & "M button" as possible hotkeys. These seem like buttons on a controller one would plug into a USB port or something similar. I attempted to set those letters as hotkeys to no avail. I also attempted to set different keys to hotkeys in the .ini file also to no avail.

I have no windows hotkeys & am having to use the mouse to switch between windows. This causes my chat window to get a cursor in it & I cannot get commands to work until I enter out the cursor in the chat window. Please do something to change the list so I can set hotkeys again! Thank you!
If you have to change your defualt keys for wineq2 so they are not the same as your g15 keyboard. I went throught the same thing when I first installed lol. Open up Wineq2. Right click wineq2 icon on your taskbar and click options then preferences. Click Everquest2 or whatever game you are using. Click Hotkeys under that game and wallaah , you can reset the defualts to something other then what you are using for g15 keys and now they will work with eq.. let me know if this helps

Quote:

SOE is introducing a Station launcher, where you can launch all of youe SOE games from. This weekend is a stress test weekend, so I decided to download the Beta.

Haven't they had that for years now? I seem to recall that several months ago they added EQ1 to it and left it optional.

As far as using multiple directories... why? The only benefits I've heard of people getting -- mostly just not having to type account names, having multiple eqclient.ini files, or thinking that it's a performance boost -- are possible with 1 EQ folder even with WinEQ lite.

Anyway, we are hard at work developing the next generation of WinEQ, as is mentioned on the main page of the web site. It is based on the Inner Space 2 engine. The Inner Space 2 engine has a much improved technique for injecting into games, and will not have a problem with the Station launcher. This also means that the next generation of WinEQ will support many more games, even including ones that are not currently out.

I too use separate directories for my accounts (originally so that I could have different settings). I copied the character files from one directory to the other and all (fingers crossed) seems to be fine at the moment. The memory usage has lowered now that I only use a single directory (which is to be expected). I dont have any custom UIs or anything.

I was able to box using the station launcher by setting the "Exit station launcher when i start playing" option and then running the launcher again after the first account was logged in.

However, the main feature I use from Win EQ 2 Lite is the ability to switch windows using a hotkey. It will take a long time to get used to Alt + TAB for switching.

It is worth looking into (or writing a little explanation) on how Win EQ is expected to work with the station launcher if only to stop the speculation or let people know how they can use station launcher and still keep the Win EQ features.
